I stared hard at my PDA’s Task Management screen.
“13 Active Tasks”
I now seek solace in the fact that i am STILL considered a juvenile delinq youth and hence, eligible to “enjoy” the Youth Day Holiday.
I guess for me, Youth Day is really a mislabeled Labour Day in which i have to clear all these snowballed tasks so that i can collect more tasks to be cleared the next weekend. It’s almost akin to emptying a bucket of crap and waiting for it to be filled up for emptying again.

Wednesday’s CAAL was spent on snatching freebies such as notebooks, waterbottles, collarpins, brochures, booklets, reports..etc ala the GSS way from the various booths manned by the many organisations. These organisations have descended into NJC to heighten the awareness of the myraid of scholarships available for undergraduate studies in local and foreign universities. There were booths manned by Brightsparks, FIrefly, DSTA, URA, SAF, SPF (sun protection factor :p), NAVY, AIRFORCE and many other organisations which were previously unheard of.
There was a booth manned by the Legal Service Commission where i spent a rather substantial amount of time inquiring about the Law Industry in the public sector.
Initially, i was rather worried that i would be facing a huge legal bill at the end of the consultation with those litigators but after being reassured constantly that i would not be charged for their services, i was able to communicate with them with a peace of mind.
Saw Meisan at the URA booth ! I’m really happy for her that she will be able to pursue her passion and study Architecture at the University of Glasgow. And under a scholarship too !
At the end of it all, i lugged home two bags of freebies and brochures for furthur perusal and usage at my own convenience. =S
I guess A Level grades is the determining factor in deciding whether or not one should qualify for a specific scholarship and this notion shall function as another driving force for me to work hard and strive for the best results.

Today’s afterschool hours were spent on sampling the food reviewed under the category of Bukit Timah Food Centre in the food blog IeatIshootIpost with Kenneth, the true-blue foodie.
Everything we tried was as great as it was reviewed to be, if not better. This lends credibility to the food blog and this also means that if time permits, we’ll be trying more of the food reviewed in the blog.
This reminds me of last week when both of us had a sudden craving for roasted chicken and we decided to skip Maths Lecture and head down to the Rail Mall’s Cold Storage to purchase them before travelling back to attend the GP tutorial session.
Mr Ducro assumed a mien of utter disbelief when he saw me holding on to the roasted chicken wrapped in an oil-proof paper bag.
Taste is one of the greatest gifts to mankind.
